New date ADW Hybrid: 29-31 March 2022
AMSTERDAM, 16 December 2021 - Due to the current uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions, the leading international platform for Urban Air Mobility, Amsterdam Drone Week - in close consultation with its partner the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) - has decided to move the three-day conference from mid-January to March 2022. This new date will offer partners, speakers and attendees from around the globe more certainty to travel to the event and meet in person again.
ADW Hybrid and the simultaneous EASA High Level Conference on Drones were originally scheduled for January in RAI Amsterdam. Due to the stricter rules in various countries, it is challenging for many partners, speakers and attendees to travel at this moment. “However well we would be able to reach out to the world virtually with our existing Hybrid set-up, we also know that there is a great need from the industry to be able to meet in person again after such a long time,” says Paul Riemens, CEO RAI Amsterdam. “The uncertainty of the current Covid situation poses a serious challenge to holding this event in January in the way we had intended. We have therefore decided to delay the event until late March, in the hope that by then the pandemic will allow the presence event which so many in the drones community are longing for,” says Patrick Ky, Executive Director EASA.
Nynke Lipsius, Director ADW: “The last months we have been working backstage on a safe and hospitable event. We have to be realistic at this point in time and understand the current feeling of uncertainty and hesitation. Moving to March gives us more certainty to meet all partners’, speakers’ and attendees' concerns.”
